The food in Kauai Hawaii

Hey, what's up everybody? My name is Scottie Yang. I'm the owner and designer of Heights Apparel. And this is about my trip to Hawaii.

For me when I go anywhere where there's an ocean I'm all about fresh seafood, so I eat a lot of fish while I'm there. Which was awesome. I mean, why not? Like that's where you're at. So I'm a huge taco guy and we found this place called Tropical Taco fresh daily caught fish and taco. Like what more could I ask for on my vacation? Right. So a Tropical Taco was amazing. Their tacos are so good. The salsa was good. I really, if you're in Honolua Bay, I highly recommend it. It's next to the Quicksilver store.

Breakfast we hit up a place called Kalypso Island Bar & Grill. Really dug it, you know, a mix of like traditional Hawaiian style breakfast is, you know, Portuguese sausage and eggs, uh, Spam and eggs. They have, I can't remember the name of it, but it's basically like a hamburger patty with like a sauce on it, rice and egg.

And that's one thing. I really love that rice is that with everything. So I do that, you know, and then you get your traditional stuff, you know, two eggs, bacon, you know, home fries or hash browns, that sort of thing. So that was really good.

I'm an avid coffee drinker and so, um, there's, they all serve local coffee. There's a coffee plantation on the Island that was amazing and drinking a lot of, you know, getting to taste like the local coffee and be able to buy, brought some back with us as well. There's another place on Hanalei. We spent a lot of time in Hanalei Bay cause it was so close and I just really dug the vibe of Hanalei Bay. So there's another great restaurant called The Hanalei Gourmet. It turns out that of friends wife's family owns the place. So he turned me onto that the last night there.

Really dug it. I had some fresh mahi mahi that was, that was out of there and it was so incredibly good. And then the lastly you can't go to Hawaii and not get a Hawaiian ice. And so there are several places throughout the Island that you can go get a Hawaiian ice. The one place in particular that we stopped and then I really, really did enjoy was a place called Wishing Well and it's actually like this really cool. It's a converted out of like an old school bus. Um, and they use like all their syrups and stuff are like non non sugar. It's all organically made in and you can really taste that difference. Cause we went to another one in Hanalei Bay that was like the stereotypical Hawaiian ice sub shop and you can taste the difference in between the ingredients that they use on their Hawaiian ice syrups and flavors.

But I highly recommend, well if you ever find your way in Hawaiian and over in Hanalei Bay, there's a nice mix, right? Cause there's a lot of options and you've got the traditional Hawaiian style fair mixed in with the typical, you know, traditional foods and offerings in that regard. So if you're wanting to get a good steak, you are going to be able to find a place to get a good steak. If you want fresh fish or fresh seafood, you're going to be able to find a fresh seafood. And a lot of the places are very kid friendly, um, which when traveling with a four year old, you know how fickle they can be with food and stubborn about food and what they will eat and not eat and a lot of these places will be able to have you covered.
