How Motorcycle Frustration Turned Into A Passionate Career
And so I went to the front counter and it was $110 for him to do five minutes of work. And I thought I'm in the wrong profession. So I decided to go to MMI, the motorcycle mechanics Institute of Phoenix, Arizona and become a Harley mechanic.
Hey, my name's Justin Pogue. I'm from Phoenix, Arizona and Alaska. I commute a lot. I enjoy motorcycles and I live to ride.
So my first experience with the motorcycle problem I had an electrical issue with the motorcycle and wouldn't start. And so growing up with a little bit of mechanical abilities I started diving into it and trying to troubleshoot it and try diagnostics and couldn't figure it out. So I decided to finally break down and take it to the dealership. And when I got to the dealership I was talking to the guy explaining to him my problems and he said, “Oh great. Just wheel it around back and pull in the shop and we'll take a look at it.” So we did that, pushed it off the truck and pushed it in the shop and got inside.
And he literally, he pulled the seat off, looked at a couple of wires, changed a couple things. He said, “Oh, I'll be right back.” Put a new connector on, bolted it up. Said, “okay” Boom. Fires it up and I was like, wow, that literally took five minutes. He goes, yeah, and bills at the front. And so I went to the front counter and it was $110 for him to do five minutes of work. And I thought, I'm in the wrong profession. So I decided to go to MMI, the motorcycle mechanics Institute of Phoenix, Arizona, and become a Harley mechanic. And because I enjoyed the motorcycles. I loved working on them. So why not learn more about them and maybe make a career out of it?
