Using A Motorcycle Ride To Clear Your Head

And so for me, it's very therapeutically, it's something that you can get on it. You clear your mind, you enjoy the scenery, you've got the elements all around you because you're not boxed into a car.

Hey, my name's Justin Pogue. I'm from Phoenix, Arizona and Alaska. I commute a lot. I enjoy motorcycles and I live to ride.

So a lot of people will say that, you know, motorcycles are dangerous. They're death machines and blah, blah. And really what it comes down to is the motorcycle is only as dangerous as the rider. Obviously you have to be more aware of things that are going on to you, so you can't really sit back and enjoy the ride as much when you're in traffic. But it is something that it's therapeutic. You literally…. because you have to think about what's going on around you. You have to think about the road. You have to think about the conditions, the weather. Um, do I have good tires? Do I not have good tires? Is that car coming over too close? Is that one coming, you know, too far?

So it really takes your mind off of everything that's going on in your life. And for me I literally average about 10,000 miles a year on my motorcycle to which most guys will only get that in the lifetime of owning their motorcycle. And so for me, it's very therapeutic. It's something that you can get on it. You clear your mind, you enjoy the scenery, you've got the elements all around you because you're not boxed into a car or a truck. And so you're exposed to everything. So the wind is blowing. So you're, you have certain muscles tense and you have to focus on that because you don't want to get too far over or too far that way. And so it's, it's something that really helps clear your mind and you can just get out and enjoy it and you notice more.
